1850 - 15c red on laid paper, cancelled “BATTAGLIA 20 FEB.' (1853) to Este. One of only two recorded covers showing laid paper used at Battaglia. To highlight the distinctive laid paper, the superb stamp—fresh with wide margins—was carefully lifted from the cover and reaffixed with a small hinge. Signed Mondolfo, certs.
