 1868 - 2L scarlet, DLR (London printing), two copies cancelled by dotted numeral '12', from 'FIRENZE 20 AUGUST 1868' to Montevideo. The cover was initially misrated as an eight-rate item and overfranked accordingly; once the error was identified, the postal clerk removed the excess stamps and applied the numeral cancellation to the impression left by one of the removed stamps.
