1863 - 15c blue, lithographed Type I, horizontal pair, from Genoa to Nice, cancelled upon landing with French small-dotted numeral with large figures ‘2656’. Letter of considerable interest, being one of the few known cases in which it was mistakenly assumed that the reduction of the domestic rate from 20 to 15 centesimi had also resulted in a reduction of the first-rate postage to France from 40 to 30 centesimi; the letter was in fact taxed on arrival ‘3’ décimes. Grioni initials and detailed E. Diena certificate (Sassone 12+pt.12)
